The beginning is the most important part of anything.

If that's the case, then this watch, the first design by the young and still unknown Gerald Genta, is perhaps underrated.

This watch was produced in the 1950s for pilots flying Scandinavian Airlines' newly established "Arctic Route."

The simple style and small case with curved lugs, in keeping with mid-century aesthetics, provide a comfortable fit and a quiet presence. The warm design combines decoration and functionality, resulting in a streamlined design.

The dauphine hands, the dial and engraved indexes, and the elegant case are all wrapped in gold.

The subtle differences in the finish of each watch make it surprisingly legible even within a uniform tone.It is a watch that is typical of Genta, highly practical yet conceptual.

This watch bears the name De Luxe, a rare top-of-the-line model from Polerouter that has been gaining attention in recent years. This model uses a half-rotor automatic movement, which was mainly used in the early models.
