A distinctive feature of these glasses is that the end piece (the base of the temples) protrudes above the center of the lens.

This design, which places the temples higher to widen the field of view, is linked to the popularization of automobiles.

The beautiful engraving on the frames is a result of the Great Depression of 1929, which led to an influx of jewellery craftsmen into the eyewear industry.

This design has now become a classic, but this model is the prototype for everything else.
